Vista installation - special procedures that may be necessary.

Most Stratford clients network their computers. Stratford has never made a 'single user' (rinky-dink) version of the program. We believe that more than 95% of Stratford clients have more than 1 workstation using the program at the same time. The Windows Vista operating system has made the process of networking computers difficult for most people and very difficult to support by vendors like Stratford. Vista support is not included in Stratford software support, however, our clients expect us to be able to help them install and run the program on a standard 'retail' PC with Windows.

The drive and folder locations of programs are hidden for some strange reason. We would not represent that this is all it takes to put a network together, but it is a start.

Here is a method for sharing a folder with Vista.

Select "Network" from your desktop (or Click Start then Network).  Once open select Network and Sharing Center.

By Default, Password protected sharing is enabled, and Public folder sharing is disabled.  Select the drop-down arrow to make the change.

Select the options to "Turn off password protected sharing" and also "Turn on sharing so anyone with network access can open, change, and create files".

Click on Apply to save changes.

Once saved, it should look like the following.

We welcome any comments and/or additions.
